I believe that a wedding should tell the couple’s unique, engaging love story and I will work closely with you to craft this.

What you need to know

The Legalities:

As a celebrant, it would be my honour, privilege and pleasure to perform your wedding ceremony and to place your unique love story at the centre of it.

However, at the moment, IIOC members are still awaiting solemnising rights, which are currently being pursued.

Therefore you will need to be legally married (solemnised) by the HSE, and have your marriage recorded in the civil records, as a valid marriage in Ireland. This can be done before or after your wedding ceremony.

Some couples choose to have the legal part taken care of first, meaning they can relax at their ceremony on a separate day.  The choice is entirely yours.

There is currently a waiting list for a consultation and you would need to give 3 months notice of intention to marry in person.  Both of you need to be present at the consultation. They perform two weddings per day and are only available from Monday to Friday. If you pop in to the HSE office rather than phone, it is much easier to get a date for an appointment.  There is a fee of €200. Please visit www.hse.ie for full information of requirements, more contact information here:

The General Register Office is located at

Your wedding ceremony

At a first consultation, we would go through the various options and rituals that you can choose for your ceremony and the ceremony framework itself.  We would discuss your own thoughts and ideas, in order to make it very special and personal for you both.   It would be lovely to hear YOUR love story and how it all began!

A wedding ceremony normally lasts 25 to 30 minutes.

THE COST OF YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY IS €450.

A non refundable deposit of €200 is payable at our first consultation. This secures your date and your booking. The date will then NOT be available for anyone else.  The balance is payable when you receive the 1st draft of your ceremony.  Fees need to be paid in full, in advance of your wedding.

Travel expenses:

  • Mileage up to 50 km from my office is covered.
  • Additional mileage, accommodation, and flight expenses will incur additional cost if these are required.

Should you wish to proceed, please let me know and we can arrange our consultation.

I wish you the best of luck with all your preparations and planning and a wonderful long and happy life together.
